Nansen peak is one of the most outstanding peaks located on the territory of Kyrgyzstan. The height of the peak is 5697 meters above sea level. The mountain is located in the Central Tien Shan to the south of the Enelchek valley. As early as 1902, the German geographer Godfried Merzbacher called this peak the most outstanding of the whole mountain range opposite the Tyuz-Ashu Pass. The scientist noted that it should be given a proper name for its magnificent appearance. And the mountain received its name in honor of the great scientific researcher Fridtjof Nansen, awarded the Nobel Prize, and proudly wears it for 87 years. The peak was first conquered in 1937. The expedition was led by A. Letaveta. Before the climbers there was a truly spectacular sight: a majestic mountain, entirely enclosed in armor of ice and snow, shone with a brilliant radiance in the sun. The path to the conquest of Nansen Peak is not simple, and requires careful physical preparation and decent ammunition. For today, one of the most popular routes to the peak is its eastern slope. Mountaineers from all over the world take the challenge with excitement, despite the fact that it is not easy to climb the Nansen Peak. In return, they see a real revelation in the form of a mountain in ice armor, unlike any mountain in the world.
