Generous. According to legend, one of the main cultural treasures of the Kyrgyz people is the epos "Manas". This is the biggest epic in the world, with a volume of more than 500 thousand poetic lines. The main hero of the work is the monument to Aikol Manas or Manas, the unification of Kyrgyz tribes into a single people. The monument is located in the heart of Bishkek, on Ala-Too Square. Its height with the pedestal is 17 m and 55 cm. It is a bronze statue depicting a national hero riding a mighty horse. The author-sculptor is Bazarbay Sydykov, and the opening of the monument (August 31, 2011) was timed to coincide with the 20th anniversary of independence of Kyrgyzstan. Initially it was planned that in the right hand the “batyr” would keep the naked sword, but later the sword was decided to be sheathed. Now Manas the Magnanimous stretches out his hand in a welcoming gesture, which is very symbolic, because hospitality is one of the main features of the people of Kyrgyzstan.
