The Big Ala-Archa Glacier is a unique place that allows mountain climbers and mountain tourism fans to do their favorite things without leaving for distant areas of Kyrgyzstan. Located just in 50 km from the capital of Bishkek, this district attracts active recreation for 365 days a year.

The glacier is located in the Ala-Archa National Park, which can be reached by an ordinary minibus from Bishkek. The climb to the glacier from the alpine camp takes a whole day, if you start it in the morning, but if you come to these places in the middle or late summer, you can catch on the way an abundance of berries of strawberries and other herbs.

Already at the glacier there is an old mountain-skiing base built in the times of the Soviet Union. It can be used for free, there are beds and blankets.

The glacier and the surrounding slopes are located at a height of just over 3,500 meters, and in these places the snow is knee-deep even in the summer, snowboarders, skiers and snow hunters - often come here.
