On the way to the Sary-Chelek reserve you can see many picturesque places. In addition to Sary-Chelek Lake there are several small lakes in the vicinity. One of them is Kara-Kamysh Lake. It was formed as a result of a major collapse that dammed the Kara-Suu River. The lake was named "Kara-Kamysh" - "black reed", but it is often called Kara-Suu or Kara-Suu-Bashykel in honor of the river that formed the reservoir. The length of the Kara-Kamysh lake is 1.5 km and the width is 500 m. The lake nature is rich in vegetation, here there are emerald-green fir-trees of Semenov and blue Tien-Shan spruce. In 7-8 km from the pond there are low passes to the Sary-Chelek lake. The most accessible of them is the Makmal Pass (2700 m). Mountain steppes are covered with thickets of wild rose, honeysuckle, hawthorn and barberry. Thanks to the fertile natural conditions, on the left bank of the Kara-Suu River, walnut forests have grown. And on the surrounding apiaries produce a unique honey and honey for their taste and useful properties.
