The Prjevalski Museum is located almost on the bank of Issyk kul lake. The monument and grave of the famous Russian traveler and scientist Prjevalsky  are allocated in this museum. There you can find his research papers, notes, works, personal things and maps.

At the entrance, there are stone ibexes on pedestals as if they defend the scientist’s spirit. There is the monument of Nikolai Prjevalski in the central part of the park.  The monument is made of nine-meter grey granodiorite. On the top of the monument there is bronze eagle, and in the bottom there is a map of Central Asia where you can see all the itineraries the researcher had passed. The traveler’s bas-relief is allocated under the Orthodox cross. This bas-relief is an extended copy of golden medal given to him by the Russian Science Academy in 1866, which had acknowledged Prjevalski’s scientific discoveries.

This  monument harmoniously match with the surrounding mountainous landscape of the Issyk-Kul lake. It was created according to General Bildering, and the sculptural works were accomplished by Academician Schreuder.
